以奇幻闻名的尼尔·盖曼的这首小诗是应他的朋友劳伦斯·席梅尔要求所写，为其占卜未来小说集作序。

在我们显得无知的命运面前，我们要怎样去面对恐惧？这是多么重要的一个问题。诗中这位夜里来造访，取走你的未来的“我”是谁呢？我们就叫它命运吧。
