Leonard Cohen生于1934年，比Rolling Stone和The Beatles早一代，比Bob Dylan大七岁，甚至比猫王还要大一岁。跟所有这些老家伙们相比，LC可谓愈老弥坚，从上世纪60年代一直写诗、唱歌到今天——去年他还发了一张新唱片。

据Leonard Cohen Files（一位年过半百的芬兰大叔为LC建的粉丝站）统计，<Hallelujah>自1984年发表以来，已有157种翻唱版本。Kurt cobain曾写道：下辈子我要做Leonard Cohen，像他一样，永恒叹息。

想在读睡里推荐LC已很久，却始终纠结于“歌词算不算诗”这个问题。直抒胸臆地说，我认为不仅应该算，甚至于，我认为最好的当代诗人很多都是词人。你同意或不同意，欢迎回复本公号讨论。

说回到这首诗（歌词）吧。<a thousand kisses deep>，用LC的话说，是一部进行中的作品（work in process）。历经旷日持久的写作过程，贯穿LC一段禅修冥想期，意象不断丰富，终于衍伸出诸多版本——包括我们今天采用的这个演唱版本(the “sung” song)在内。

演唱版相比于原诗，缩短了很多、也更符合唱的韵律。但可以想象，这首歌来自一首野心勃勃的巨制，很多意象、典故、比喻，在从诗到歌的过程中被埋藏地更深，令翻译变成一桩难事。轻盈的气息译了两个版本，经讨论了两个版本的优劣，我们最终决定给大家一个更易懂的版本。
